In einem Interview mit Torgen (Sat1) hat Kim Carnes ebenfalls erzählt, warum sie diesen Song geschrieben hat: “Good night angel” came from watching a film called “Then they were soldiers” (...) I realised, that I wanted to write from the point of view of the girlfriends, the wives left behind , not of the soldiers. And put myself in the place of how would I feel, if somebody I cared about, if I loved, had gone to war. And I went to the piano, once that I knew what I wanted, and out came “Good night angel”."
